Alone

I am starting to become afraid
familiar places no longer look the same,
And I find myself wondering
how much longer will I know my name.
For I'm now getting lost
traveling to places I used to go,
And getting there and back
is something that I should still know.
But there will be no directions
to help me find my way back home,
For one's journey alongside Alzheimer's
is one that you have to take alone.
Has my fate been sealed
has my voyage already begun,
And where will it end up taking me
before the end will finally come?
