Mommy what are you afraid of
what is it that you see?
Oh how i wish
you were capable of telling me!

What kind of monsters are there
that keep you awake at night?
Who comes to terrorize you
and fills your sleep with fright?

I try to offer you comfort
but nothing I do stops your fear
You try your best to convince me
that the monsters are so very near.

I leave your room in silence
finally hoping that you are asleep
But only seconds later
I can hear you begin to weep.
