I Long For You
I long for you
to find me once again.
I long for my mother,
for my best friend.
Can't you see me mommy
I'm standing right here.
I'm reaching out to you,
I need for you to be near.
Can't you hear my cries
ever so deep inside.
For my heart was shattered,
the day that you died.
As you lay dying
I so longed to say,
"Please don't leave me!
Come back, please stay!"
To let you go so soon to God
was my last gift of love to you.
I knew you needed to be with Him,
you were tired, and this I knew.
I long to be with you
and this I know you can see.
For you always promised,
that you'd come back for me.
Until that day
when you return for me,
My tortured soul
will never be set free.
