It took me quite awhile before I finally decided to do this page. I wanted so very much to be able to show all of you just what Alzheimer's looks like as it progresses. The only way that I could do that was to show you these photos of my mother that were taken at the nursing home.
I barely recognize her face. All that I can see is the madness of Alzheimer's and that "blank" "blank" stare... No one should ever have to suffer this kind of fate!
What is it that you are seeing mom? Have the monsters come to get you? If only you had been able to tell me about all of your "horrors"...all of your "demons"....
Long after mom died I found the following written inside one of her puzzle books. I am not too sure just when she wrote this down, but I know that it had to be when she was first feeling the effects of this monster called Alzheimer's. Her handwriting was still good when she wrote this. My God! How terrified she must have been!!
